Enteros Design worked with the YMCA of Greater Richmond to develop a prototype “Airnasium” – an open-air, covered recreation pavilion designed to expand programming opportunities while remaining cost-effective and flexible. The Airnasium provides a durable, weather-protected environment for a wide range of activities, including group exercise, youth sports, community events, and wellness programming.
The prototype was designed with adaptability in mind so it can be replicated and erected at multiple YMCA facilities throughout the region. Its structure offers shade and protection from the elements while maintaining natural ventilation and a strong connection to the outdoors. This design not only reduces operating costs compared to fully enclosed facilities but also promotes year-round engagement in active, healthy lifestyles.
By creating a prototype that can be customized to individual sites, Enteros Design has provided the YMCA with a versatile, scalable solution that extends its ability to serve members and the community in new and meaningful ways.
