The Lester Family YMCA represents a transformational, community-driven investment in health, wellness, and family support for Martinsville and Henry County.  Enteros Design was engaged by the City of Martinsville to prepare a Preliminary Architectural Report (PAR) that validated project feasibility, refined program and space requirements, developed conceptual building and site designs, and established preliminary cost estimates to guide future phases.

The proposed facility replaces the YMCA’s aging and functionally obsolete 42,000-square-foot building with a modern, approximately 60,000-square-foot, two-story facility on a 7-acre site along North Memorial Boulevard. Designed to meet contemporary standards for flexibility, efficiency, and inclusivity, the new YMCA significantly expands aquatics, wellness, recreation, and childcare offerings. Key program elements include competition and recreational pools, a full-size gymnasium with running track, modern cardio and strength training areas, group exercise studios, flexible multipurpose spaces, child watch facilities, and a dedicated Early Learning Center with outdoor play areas. Outdoor amenities include a turf field, spray pad, playgrounds, and multi-sport courts extend programming beyond the building and strengthen year-round community engagement.
