The Historic Farmer’s Market in Petersburg, Virginia was originally a butcher’s market constructed in 1879. Its unique octagonal design and open second story made the building a famous landmark in the city. Enteros Design was hired to turn the iconic building into an upscale restaurant and bar.

The focus of the restaurant is the central octagonal bar that can be accessed on all sides. The building’s open framework allowed us to take advantage of the natural light pouring in from the original clerestory windows. By focusing on natural materials and historic styles, the design recalls the building’s history, while still expressing a distinctly modern feel.
