The Williamson Road Library was constructed in 1964 as a 4,050 sf branch library to serve the community. A 1981 addition increased the building area to 6,080 sf. The addition provided space for a children’s area and multipurpose room. To facilitate entry from the parking lot, the entrance was relocated to the rear of the building and a new entry vestibule was added.

To accommodate growing demand, the new library renovation increased the building area to 10,346. The existing children’s area and multipurpose room were renovated to provide additional space for adult collections, a quiet room, and three study rooms. A new children’s area was constructed along with expanded staff area, a community room capable of seating 100 occupants, and a new entry lobby with expanded pubic bathrooms. The new lobby allows entry from Williamson Road as well as from the parking lot located behind the building.

Site improvements included expanding the parking lot to 54 spaces, adding a bio-retention garden for storm water management, an event lawn, and an enclosed children’s garden accessible from the children’s area on the western façade. Exterior materials include masonry, composite aluminum panel, and glass.
