Petersburg Public Safety Building Study

Petersburg, VA

As a supplement to our City Hall Study, Enteros Design was contracted to prepare a space needs assessment for the Petersburg Police Department.  Through several interviews with police personnel, review of their department space list, and evaluation of the existing police facility, we compiled a detail space list and program summary.  Using this programming study and information collected for Fire Administration, we developed two preliminary concepts for a new Public Safety Building.  The first concept involved a phased renovation and expansion of the existing police station, construction of a new adjacent City Hall and parking deck, and renovation and expansion of the existing courthouse.  This plan would create a government center in the heart of Old Town Petersburg.  The second concept involved construction of a new City Hall and Public Safety Building on Washington Street along the primary entrance corridor into the City.
